Rachell Shapiro is an experienced Producer, Writer, and Director who attributes the passion and dedication she puts into her work to the inspiration she garners from life’s experiences; whether that be traveling to new places or walking down to the local farmers market in her neighborhood. Each moment and each observation, whether large or small, can lead to that creative spark that could inspire the next idea. Rachell believes that in filmmaking, an open mind and a sincere interest in the issues and cultures of the world are imperative to creating an informed and imaginative film.
Favorite School Memory:
My 5th grade teacher Mrs. Gauze, had a passion for the environment before it was cool to be “green”. Her passion spilled over to all of her students and especially me. I was so concerned with saving the environment that I made my mom stop buying plastic sandwich bags and foil and told her she could only use wax paper to pack my lunches. Even though wax paper doesn’t hold together well and is not ideal for packing a 10 year olds lunch, she did it anyways, and I was so proud to have a “green” lunch to show my "green" teacher every day.
